An important step for Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Germany: at the Future Forum for Digital Construction and Planning in December in Berlin the German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Mr. Alexander Dobrindt had the honor of introducing the road map for BIM in
Germany, a phased plan for the application of digital planning, construction and operation. The aim has been to establish the BIM working method as standard initially in public-sector infrastructure projects by 2020.
HOCHTIEF ViCon's Head of product development Dr. Jan Tulke presented the highly anticipated road map for BIM in Germany (BIM Stufenplan in Deutschland) in front of 400 selected delegates. The road map contains a time-bound concept for BIM with specific minimum criteria. It also defines the common understanding of the method and specifies the requirements needed for the collaborative working with BIM.
From January 1, 2016 Dr. Tulke will lead "Planen Bauen 4.0" as Managing Director. Planen Bauen 4.0 GmbH was founded in February 2015 by leading German construction associations and institutions to promote the digitalization of planning, construction and operation in Germany.
