In our four-part news series on the digital twin, we provide insights into our services, our understanding, and use cases based on the example of the digital twin of the A6 federal motorway developed jointly with HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions. In the previous part, we already gave insights into the use case of accident management. In this final part, we present road inspection in more detail as part of the maintenance management use case.
During the road inspection the condition of the roads is recorded in detail using a special vehicle. The results and data collected, linked with the digital twin, serve as an important basis for planning maintenance measures. The measurement is evaluated according to defined threshold and warning values, with the roadway strip in the affected roadway section turning yellow if the warning value is exceeded and red if the threshold value is exceeded. However, not all exceedances necessarily result in a defect that must be corrected on the roadway.
This visualization of the ZEB data on the digital twin supports the evaluation of the measurement results as well as the identification of necessary maintenance measures. An additional added value for the project participants is also created by the direct link to the documents of the measurements from the P3IM system.
This concludes our series on the digital twin. We hope we were able to provide a good insight into our services, understanding and use cases of the digital twin. For more insights and information about the digital twin, follow us on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/3082081
