Brief description:
The structural components of the three-dimensional CAD model (walls, columns, floors...) can be linked to the events in a time schedule.Then, in a 4d simulation, the construction of the building is shown in animated form by depicting 3d models at different points in time. If a target time schedule and an actual time schedule are linked with a CAD model, deviations between planned and actual construction operations become apparent. In this way, the 4d model can be used to document construction progress and manage and monitor work done. In addition, the 4d model contains important information for logistics planning. For instance, it can show what material is required when and where.
